Welcome Return For Boks

Springbok Coach, Allister Coetzee, will begin to breathe a sigh of relief after the return of two of flyhalf candidates, Elton Janjies and Patrick Lambie. Coetzee will have been sweating over the fitness of these two #10’s who have both seen the Springbok Green & Gold.

Lambie cracked the nod from Gary Gold as his inclusion in the squad was made public on the 3rd but will be second best to Garth April who has been occupying the #10 Jersey in Black and White. Director of rugby at the Cell C Sharks, Gary Gold, has been reported as saying that they want to be careful of how they reintroduce the Springbok Flyhalf and Club Captain back into Super Rugby since being injured earlier on in the year.

Further inland, the Emirates Lions welcome back their charismatic #10, Elton Jantjies. After a knee injury scare this past weekend, Elton has been cleared to play against the Blues. Initial suggestions thought that he had a medial knee ligament injury, but medical reports from Monday cleared all worries the Emirates Lions may have been experiencing. The team has a bye this weekend and it serves as a welcome break for the team to rehab crucial players before their Blues clash on May 14th.

The return of these two players will most likely give Allister Coetzee a headache he will not mind having. The #10 department is a crucial part to any team and the Bok’s will have to hone in on this department as one of their strengths. Coetzee will also have the issue of transformation in the back of his mind after a recent announcement made by the Razzmatazz, Fikile Mbalula, banning the Bok’s from bidding for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. I’ve said this before and I will not shy away from saying it yet again, being the Bok Coach is one job that I would not like to have.
